DrillTec and NAM continue to cooperate for the next three years
For more than seven years DrillTec GUT GmbH Großbohr- und Umwelttechnik has been working on oil and gas fields in the Netherlands for the energy company NAM, a subsidiary of Shell and Exxon. Now the further cooperation has been set by a new contract: for the following three years DrillTec continues its onshore drillings for NAM in the Netherlands. Furthermore the contract includes two options for extension, each option offering the possibility of extending the contract for one year. For the projects DrillTec uses the drilling rig VDD 370.3 Synergy 2. After being in permanent operation for four years the drilling rig has been methodically maintained and can now successfully continue the perennial contract for NAM.
STREICHER at Oldenburg Piping Forum
The Oldenburg Piping Forum is fix in the schedule of trade fairs of the MAX STREICHER GmbH & Co. KG aA. This year the meeting of the piping industry takes place for the 26th time already. At the trade fair STREICHER focuses on pipeline construction, plant construction, local network construction, drilling technology as well as on the services closely related to those sectors. From 09th to 10th February it’s all about the future of the pipeline construction at the university of applied sciences in Oldenburg: How is the construction of gas supply lines influenced by the fact that those lines are more and more used as energy storage for renewable energies? How is it possible to transport sewage water, being a valuable thermal energy source, over far distances without thermal loss? STREICHER not only uses the Piping Forum at the college of higher education in Oldenburg for expert discussions but also to get in contact with trainees.
DrillTec drills geothermic wells in the Netherlands
Near Rotterdam, a little village named Honselersdijk, DrillTec GUT GmbH Großbohr- und Umwelttechnik drills geothermic wells for Green Well Westland B.V. Green Well Westland B.V. is a consortium of five gardening companies and has only been founded for this geothermal project. The aim of the drillings is to use the thermal energy for the heating of the greenhouses, to reduce CO2 emissions and at the same time to protect the environment and become independent from energy companies. It is planned to drill two geothermic wells with a depth of about 3,200 meters. After the first drilling a flow test should find out if a second drilling is economic. The drilling rig used for this project is the deep drilling rig VDD 200.1 Compact which has been installed in confined space in the middle of a complex of large greenhouses. The project started in December 2011 and is planned to be finished in April 2012.

107,000 meters in 2 ½ years – successfull completion of the project Schoonebeek
Two and a half years DrillTec GUT GmbH Großbohr- und Umwelttechnik has been working on the Schoonebeek oilfield at the German-Dutch frontier. Now the project which included drilling works, piping, cementation of the drill hole and fitting of the supply line is finished. The Dutch energy company NAM, a subsidiary of the Shell and the Exxon Group, produces oil at the Schoonebek field. In order to prepare the field for the oil production DrillTec altogether carried out 73 drillings – production hole drillings, superheated steam injection drillings and observation drillings. All in all three drilling rigs, among them the “Compact” rig based on a modular concept, have been drilling 107,000 meters. DrillTec has been able to successfully finish the drillings before the planned end of the project.
