ZIERER Karussell- und Spezialmaschinenbau GmbH & Co. KG has reached another international milestone with the delivery of three attractions for the Legoland Shanghai Resort. The project, which opened in 2025, presented significant challenges – ranging from strict Chinese testing and approval regulations to complex logistics.
For Shanghai, a Force Coaster in the style of the well-known Dragon Coaster, a Jet Ski and a Wave Swinger were produced and adapted to local standards. The Dragon Coaster, a family rollercoaster with a track length of 535 metres and equipped with three trains, each seating 20 people, was fitted with highly detailed dragon-themed décor. The Jet Skis, a dual-track system for a total of 36 people, were designed by the ZIERER team in the Lego Friends style. And the 56-seater Wave Swinger was specially decorated for Legoland – the first Wave Swinger ever to feature a Lego design.
Key features included digital approval by the CSEI regulatory authority and extensive on-site testing. Despite production being spread across Europe and the complex logistics involved, the project proceeded according to plan. Two GOLDEN CROWN Awards underline the success and quality of the attractions.
